Alpha Tester Guide

Multichat closed alpha · last updated 16 October 2026

Thanks for helping test StreamDream! You were invited by BioChemist11. Report bugs and ideas in the Discord channel you were added to, or email support@streamdream.gg.

1. Your space

You'll get a personal address like yourname.streamdream.gg and a one-time setup link. Open the link, set your dashboard password, and you're in. Your space is completely separate from every other tester's.

2. Connect your platforms

In your dashboard, click Connect next to each platform you stream on. You'll be sent to that platform's own login page, so StreamDream never sees your password.

PlatformStatusWhat it can do
Twitch✅ AlphaRead and send chat, moderation, stream title
YouTube✅ AlphaRead and send live chat, broadcast title and description
Kick✅ AlphaRead and send chat, moderation, stream title
TikTok🧪 TestingRead-only live chat, for selected testers only
YouTube during the alpha: Google limits unverified apps to a list of approved test accounts. Send the operator the Google account email that owns your channel so it can be added, otherwise Google will block the login. You may also see an "unverified app" screen. That's expected during the alpha: click Advanced → Continue.

3. Add Multichat to OBS

The dock (your control panel)

In OBS: Docks → Custom Browser Docks…. Name it Multichat, paste the Dock URL from your dashboard, then click Apply. Drag the dock wherever you like.

The overlay (what viewers see)

In your scene, add a Browser source and paste the Overlay URL from your dashboard. A good starting size is width 500, height 800. Leave the background transparent.

Your dock and overlay links contain a private key. Don't show them on stream or share them. If one leaks, use Regenerate key in your dashboard.

4. Optional: AI features with your own OpenAI key

AI features are off until you add your own key, so the cost is billed to you, and you control it.

  1. Go to platform.openai.com and sign in or create an account. This is separate from a ChatGPT subscription.
  2. Open Settings → Billing and add a small amount of credit (for example $5). Under Limits, set a monthly budget so you can never be surprised.
  3. Open API keys (platform.openai.com/api-keys) and click Create new secret key. Give it a name like StreamDream. If you're offered permissions, "All" is simplest, or "Restricted" with Model capabilities set to Write.
  4. Copy the key, which starts with sk-. You can only see it once.
  5. In your StreamDream dashboard, paste it into AI → OpenAI API key and save. It is stored encrypted and is only used for your own requests.

Typical usage costs cents per stream. Your usage is shown at platform.openai.com/usage. To stop at any time, delete the key in your dashboard or revoke it on OpenAI.

5. Giving feedback

6. Leaving the alpha

You can leave at any time. Disconnect your platforms in the dashboard, then ask for deletion and your whole space is wiped. See the Privacy Policy.
